missing the old times, old people

The moment I logged into my Blogger.com account, I clicked on Steph's link. I was worried about her. I couldn't believe that she got into a car accident when she called me this morning. It was a shocking news. It happened when she was on her way to pick me up. Fortunately, no one's injured. I know the feeling. I was involved in one myself a few months ago, about two months after the new car arrived. It was really foolish actually. I banged the passenger's door against the wall while parking, dumb right? My family scolded me for being so clumsy. To be frank, I'm more afraid of my two older sisters then my parents. Some of my friends who met them might know the reason behind it. Heh. My dad has no intention of getting the door repaired, yet. He wants to wait till I get my L license, which is around May next year. But I secretly think that he did that in order to remind me that I've to be careful while driving.
Okay, back to the main topic - reunion with the primary schoolmates today @ MidValley. I feel very lucky that I've a bunch of SJKC friends that I still keep in touch with because most of my friends lost contact with theirs once they graduated.
Ruyee and Yen Shern (who I haven't seen him for ages) are back from UK for the summer holidays, hence the reunion was organized specially for them. We skipped Despicable Me (a cartoon movie...=.=) because I couldn't make it on time. Bumped into Janice on the LRT. Because that today's a weekend, the KTM was damn packed! We were actually sandwiched on the KTM. Luckily, we were surrounded by females. But my face was totally covered with some Indian girl's big bushy hair. Okay, I was joking. It's not that serious, but I get to taste her hair. Eewww. What an awful experience. I couldn't believe how some of my college friends who have to travel everyday via KTM to college can survive??? Somehow, Janice and I managed to get off the KTM, unbroken and alive.
Met up with the people once we reached. For lunch, we went to a Chinese restaurant. I don't remember the name but it's quite famous in MV. Next stop - Sweet Chat. It's not that they serve the best desserts, but Sweet Chat just popped up every time when we have our gatherings. It's like, you know, a "our place" thing? After filling our stomach, we took some pictures. This is a must for gatherings. It's nice to get together with the people. The best part was when Sze Lynn spilled her beans before we left. One of the biggest gossips ever between us!!! Sorry, but I'm not allowed to share it here (Steph & Kar Fun: we will fill you guys when we meet up).

Janice and I carpool-ed with Khai Howe since he's going to Leisure Mall after that. But first, we dropped by at his place as he had to get his iPad. Bloody hell!!! An iPad!!! My dad doesn't want to get a new laptop for me let alone an iPad. KH got his when he was in Canada. Was it just last month? Oh oh oh. The best part was his house, no, mansion. OMG... it's the best and largest I ever been to so far. Jan and I were like "jakuns". We were actually whoa and wooooh all the way from the amazingly beautiful living room, the big fish pond, the carpeted elevator (crazy right? to have one in a house!), two huts in the compound, the white grand piano, and a comfy karaoke room!!!! Oh, we so going to have a party at his place this year!

Pictures of the day:

Poor Seng Joe sprained his ankle four weeks ago.

I love the Louis Vuitton background.

The lion cub is super kawaii!!!

Steph & Kar Fun:
We might have another one before they fly on early Sept.
See you guys then.

get lifted

29.07.2010
[Thursday]

Get Lifted - a musical production, organized by UCSI CF. The story was simple. But the message was conveyed clearly to the audience, whom I believed most of them attended in order to get ECA points. Also, it would be much better if there's no sound system error and have some funny scenes. The cast were alright. I know they did their best tonight.

The event tonight made me anticipating for CHCKL's next musical production!!! I'm always looking forward for their production. I still remember, few years back, I went for the Christmas production - Christmas at Chang's. We were only 5 minutes late, but we were forced to sit outside the hall, and only able to watch through LCD projector (like at the mamak stalls where you watch World Cup) because it was fully packed inside!! This year's Easter's Day production too ... flooded with around 3300 people. Crazingly crowded right? Sadly, Sharon told me that we have to wait till next year for the next production...where everyone can fit in the new hall. =)

crazy dog attacks,again

The latest vic: my mom
Crime scene: the playground opposite my house
Time: around 7/8 in the evening

This is the third time the neighbour's dog attack our family. Some of our neighbours are afraid of the dog too. This is one dangerous dog you ever seen in a neighbourhood. Not to mention that the owner, who apparently same age as me, is responsible for all three attacks. My dad couldn't stand it anymore. Thus, he went to lecture the guy and complained to the mother. I can't believe my dad shot him with "YOU'RE SO LAZY!!! blah blah blah..." in that guy's face. I can't imagine any adult talk to me like that and say that I'm a lazy bump or similar to it. I'll totally freak out and be emo for several days. I wonder what the guy feels now. To add salt to it. Anna (eldest sis) actually thinks he's a retarded. I agree. If he's not, a retarded, how could he let this happen again to my mother?!? After the lecture, my dad brought my mom to the clinic for the injection. Went to the police station at Tmn Segar to file a report. Don't know what's going to happen next because the police in charge said that we need to go to the court if we sue the neighbour. Shyt. This is becoming more serious. Stay tune for the drama.

See? Christmas looks so tiny and cute.

Now, look at this:

The original giant schnauzer.

movie marathon

Recently, I watched...

I guess I was the last to watch this among my friends. Somehow, I don't think it worth my time. The plot was predictable. Carell and Fey made a good couple though. And yes, Leighton Meester (the Fosters' babysitter) appeared a few times in the movie. The director Levy made it short and simple for the Fosters' date night. So I'm going to make this short and simple as well -

plot - 6/10
acting value - 7/10
speciality/creativity - 5/10
overall rating - 6/10
Arghh.
I seriously dislike this silly movie.
I just don't know why some of my friends commented in fcbk that it's hilarious!
It's just an ex-couple who don't see eye-to-eye. Jennifer Aniston is hot and she may fit in comedies but this movie is a NO NO! No comment on Gerard Butler though, I only like him in P.S. I Love You. The plot doesn't catch the audience attention in many ways. But there are some scenes that are funny. I didn't watch till the end because I beh tahan (can't stand it) anymore. Hence, I've no ground to give ratings.
Watched this with Steph last Saturday @ Pavilion.
Truth to be told. I only watched it because of the hot Latin mama Jennifer Lopez!
It's the best decision choosing J.Lo for Zoe's character because J.Lo is a mama herself and oh that hot figure of hers could keep you drooling. Yes, even girls I know envy that body! The title says it all. Some of the relationships don't have to be in come in a traditional way: fall in love, get married, have a baby. This movie's the opposite. There are some flaws in the plot though for eg, the financial part. Oh yea, there's a scene that is really really gross. Not going to tell you here. I'm not much of a spoiler. uhhum. Okay, I'll be an angel for once. It's the part where Zoe's "friend" from the "single-pregnant woman, and proud" group laboured. Uh yuck. Why can't they just do it in the hospital, in a more natural way?
Anyway, I give it a 7/10 because of its funny plot (although it's predictable), hot-ass J.Lo, and the charming Alex O'Loughlin.

My Girlfriend is a Secret Agent

I'm really bad in remembering Korean names. But Kim Ha-Nuel gives an impression that makes people hard to forget in this movie, especially the fighting scenes. Some said this movie is the Korean version of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I couldn't agree more. Everybody has dark secrets, so does this couple. They find it hard to trust each other completely, thus the unstable relationship. But in the end, as always, after the dramas, they realized they complete each other. Overall rating - 7/10.

Ha-Neul's cute and trendy wedding dress in MGIASA, love it!

Enough for the romantic comedies. Let's move to thriller movies.

Gibson oh Mel Gibson. Gibson plays a widowed father/detective, Thomas Craven who takes on a revenge to those who were responsible of his baby girl, Emma's death. His life falls apart after someone mistakenly shot his daughter instead of him. However, Craven found out that it wasn't just a simple "accident", that bullet is meant for Emma who had a secret that would cost her life. This father-daughter movie was actually adapted from a British tv series using the same title. I'm not fond of Gibson, but the storyline is what not audience could think of, making the movie more interesting as ever. Thus, a 7/10 from me.

This is one hell of a f*king psychological movie ever! Like Edge of Darkness, this movie f*ks here and there. One thing I dislike the most. Can't they throw out the F word? The characters were like adding salt in each lines!! Set the manners aside, this movie is unthinkable and unbelievable. It's insanely violent and bloody at the same time. This film stars Michael Sheen, Samuel L. Jackson and Carrie-Anne Moss. This movie is about terrorism. Sheen plays the all-American Muslim terrorist, Yusuf/Younger who planted 3 nuclear bombs in 3 different American states. He threatens to blew the citizens apart if his demands are not met. His well-planned plan turns the U.S. military up and down. Jackson plays the cruel interrogator, "H" who could do anything, anything at all, in order to save his nation. Moss plays a FBI agent, Brody who uses her feelings in this deadly case. Yusuf was badly tortured by "H" - it's either saving thousands of people or a man and his family? Don't say I didn't warn you - this movie has a number of ugly torture scenes that are hard to take. But this is one of the most unthinkable movie I ever watched so far. 9/10 for an unthinkable the Unthinkable movie.

Funny quote from Unthinkable (taken from IMDB):

H: Youssef! Do you believe I can do this?

Agent Helen Brody: H., he believes it, he believes it!

H: Faith is not enough, he has to know it!

Agent Helen Brody: He knows it!

H: Knowing is not enough! He has to see it!
